Arizona

I have to confess, I did not take this picture. I spent a long weekend in Arizona with my Aunt and my cousin, and it was my aunt that took this picture while she and my cousing were waiting for me to arrive. Posted by Picasa

Well, here is the only image I have of my Clapotis right now. I looked so horrid in the picture that I had to crop my head out... I was in a store trying on a funny cowboy hat when my Aunt snapped this photo. I am very happy with the way my Clapotis turned out... It is small, but I knit it to wear it as a scarf, anyway. Since it isn't scarf weather, yet, I had to wear it as a shawl the day I finished it. Clapotis is very soft... I used a delicious wool/cashmere blend that was reduced from 16.75 a skein to only 2 dollars apiece!!! Posted by Picasa

This is a shot of just a few of the many hot air balloons I saw while visiting Albuquerque's International Balloon Fiesta last week. Seeing so many balloons inflate and take flight was magical-- especially because it took place in the early hours of the morning as the sun was rising.  Posted by Picasa

Clapotis!

Ahh... Clapotis. I've wanted to make one since I don't know how long, and last week while I was visiting Phoenix I stumbled upon a wonderful yarn store that was having a wonderful sale. I bought three balls of the most beautiful wool/cashmere blend. It is a rich brown color and it is so soft to touch. Yes, I know, I'm not using a variegated yarn-- but I just prefer the look of a monochromatic shawl. And yes, I only have three balls... so my Clapotis will be a bit smaller than average-- I'm okay with that, I already have a number of larger scarves/shawls/wraps (as most knitters probably do!)

I will post pictures in a couple of days, once I've dropped a few more stitches-- I just dropped the first stitch before writing this post.

And now, travel news. I am fortunate enough to be able to go back to Arizona next weekend to visit with some family-- I'm so excited. My DH has been away training for about 4 weeks now, and I'm pretty lonely here. The weekend in Arizona is perfect, because I will return on Sunday, just in time to prepare for the hubby's Monday arrival.

Meet Libby. I knit this sweater over the past winter and I finally wore it while visiting Albuquerque this past week. The pattern is from the Rowan Cork Collection and I used the yarn by the same name: Rowan Cork. Unfortunately, I misplaced the rest of my information on this sweater when I moved, so I cannot say what size I knit, what my guage was, or even what needle size I used!  Posted by Picasa

Here are two full images of my finished Tivoli. Wearing it was a pleasure while in sunny Phoenix!  Posted by Picasa
